Book: The King and The Butterfly
Sample of a chapter from the children's book "The King and The Butterfly"
"Is she wounded? Is she sick?" asked George as he bent down for a closer look.
"I'm not sure," the King answered softly. He was nervous and there was fear in his voice. "I must move her to the castle before dark. The nights are getting cold and I can't leave her out here. Besides, we can assess her situation much better there."

"IT'S ALWAYS DEEPEST AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WELL
Imagine, if you will, that someone threw you down a large, dark, damp well, and that by some miracle you survived the fall. Now, at the bottom of this ominous well, try to picture how you would get out of it.
Short Story: Searching for Treasure
I remember packing. I swore it was the final time. All my doubts, fears and heartaches were in those boxes. I'd moved more than a dozen times since I was twenty. I packed my last regret and headed for the car. I hadn't even looked back. There had been nothing there that pulled me to turn and even take one more glance. I felt as empty as a creek that had run dry over time.

Humor: Sawing Wood
Why is it that the person who is the snorer is busy getting a good night sleep, while the rest of the house is tossing and turning? The snorer awakes well rested and ready for a brand new day. Full of vim and vigor, excited with life, his energetic pounce propels him into the kitchen. On the other hand, the other residents arise in a sleep-deprived fog. They shuffle down the hall unable to lift their feet. They mumble and grunt as they bump into the bathroom door.
Poetry: Dreamer
I've always been a dreamer,
my thoughts reach far and wide.
I can turn a babbling brook,
into a crashing tide.
I can become a sea gull,
and soar to touch the sky.
I, like every dreamer,
know that I can fly!
Some people scoff at dreamers,
to them I just reply:
You'll never know the wonderment,
unless you dare to try !!!
Poetry: Brain Storm
I have gone completely mad.
That thin line, I've dared to cross.
I am now within myself.
The outside concerns me not.
I am lost in time and space.
Rules do not apply.
Could I find my way back?
Or, don't I want to try?
Was it stress and pressure?
Do I really care?
Was it all so terrible,
that I couldn't stand it there?
Would one person listen,
or try to understand?
Is there no one out there,
to lend a helping hand?
Am I the one who's crazy,
or am I the one who's sane?
And does it even matter,
when I'm lost inside my brain?
Poetry: Struggle to live
Swatted a wasp
It fell into the sink
Not dead – just stunned
Could have smashed it
Didn’t
Turned the hot water on instead
Stood watching as it struggled with all the energy it had
To live
Could have pulled out the drain catcher
Didn’t
Don’t know why
Stood mesmerized, watching
Why didn’t he just give up
Why was he fighting so hard
For what
Kept watching till the bitter end
The struggle of one wasp – or
The struggle of us all
To hang on to life for as long as we can
