Biography
Bio:
I've led quite an eclectic life and thus it stands to reason that my writing would also be eclectic. I was born in Minnesota, yet have lived in nine states during my lifetime. My travels have taken me far and wide, with visits to Germany, Mexico, Hawaii and even the Philippine Islands. The paths I have walked in this lifetime have become great fodder for my writing. Mixing observations, research and inner feelings gives each book, article, or poem depth, color and a unique texture.
Jack London, to cloudesley Johns, said “Atmosphere stands always for the elimination of the artist. Get your good strong phrases, fresh and vivid; write intensively, not exhaustively or lengthily; don’t narrate – paint! Draw! Build! Create! Better one thousand words that are built than a whole book of mediocre spun-out, dashed-off stuff. Damn you! Forget you! And then the world will remember you!”
I am a writer who paints vivid pictures and draws fresh insights with words. I want the reader to not only see the story in their minds eye, but I want them to feel the words in their very core. Much like a sculptor cutting through to find his/her unique vision held deep within the stone, clay or wood, I create with words, digging deep to find the true heart beat of each story.
My life’s journey has produced many lessons. I’ve always been an avid reader and keen observer. Both continue to serve as valuable tools in my writing endeavors. There have been many twists and turns in this journey. I draw from the hard times, the happy times as well as the times in-between. The ups and downs of this life have served to mold me into a person/writer with greater inner depth.
I continue to dip my quill into the inkwell, (oh let’s be honest it’s my computer keyboard), searching with passion for words that will propel my next story, article, poem or book into the awaiting readers mind.
